This weekend went by pretty quickly. Monday I had a girls day with my mom. We had some funny moments, some yummy cupcakes and she redyed my hair! Now to prepare for the rest of the week full of trying to clean up my craft room! Valentine’s Day and Easter both seem to come up pretty quickly after Christmas and don’t seem to get as much attention.
Today’s project is focused on Easter. The project was inspired from this Tic Tac Toe Challenge. I choose Column 1 on the left “Anything but a Card, Die Cut and Green.” As soon as I saw this I knew what I wanted to make. I wanted to create an Easter basket that was a more on the masculine/ little boy side. Click the image to go check out the other designs for this challenge.
I used the Wood Crate die to create the actually basket form. To do this I ran the die through my Big Shot 4 times but only on the large basket side so I didn’t waste paper. I used the Naturally Eclectic designer series paper (My Favorite DSP from the annual!). I adhered them end to end using Tear Tape. Folded the bottom on top of each other and added a piece of card stock inside to help strengthen it.
I cut a strip of the same designer series paper to use as the handle and adhered it with more Tear Tape. I didn’t want it to be too plain or too fancy so I decided to stamp the rabbit and stitched circle from A Good Day stamp set from the Occasions catalog. I used the coordinating punch 1 3/8″ scallop circle to punch it out. Then the 1 1/2″ circle punch and punched out of a Lemon Lime Twist circle that layers behind the scalloped circle.
Adding the layered stamped image with Stampin’ Dimensional to the basket. I then added a bow using the Lemon Lime Twist striped ribbon. I kept this project more on the simpler side because I want the basket to be a big focus too.
I hope to make some more of these for my post office lady and my mom’s bank ladies. They all work so hard and its nice to share what we love with them! What would you put into these small Easter baskets?
Have a great week!
