Are you ready for the weekend? It feels like the weeks are starting to fly by again lately! As today’s card is a birthday card I think about how some people take a week and celebrate their birthday, I love this! We all deserve to celebrate with friends and family that we are alive! This year birthdays may be different for some people as we go through a historic pandemic but in the end we can still celebrate! Send someone a beautiful handmade birthday card (maybe include some molla hehe) and let them know you care where you can see them in person or not!
On today’s card used Merry Merlot, Rocco Rose and a hint of Petal Pink. Looking at this card the colors feel like they could be using in a home somewhere. The “textures” that the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper shows is amazing! On this card I used the Stucco with Rocco Rose texture and the hexagon tiles. I love how they work so well together!
I started off with a Merry Merlot card base. The stucco texture paper is cut to 4″ by 5 1/4″. I adhered it with liquid glue. The next layer is a piece of Rocco Rose cut to 3 3/8″ by 4 3/8″. I layered the tile paper on with liquid glue and it was cut to 3 1/4″ by 4 1/4″. That whole layer was added to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I then stamped the sentiment in Rocco Rose onto Whisper White and die cut it using ne of the scalloped rectangles from the Stitched So Sweetly die set. I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the right hand side and liquid glue the rest of the way so it was level with the other layers. Last I wanted some kind of ribbon. I used this Petal Pink Organdy Striped ribbon that I had on hand. I cut a piece then cut the ribbon in half and tied a knot. I added it to the card with a glue dot. This gave the card a little playful texture like the background.
