Annual 2018-2019, Designer Series Paper, Embossing, Masculine

For All You Do!

June, please don’t fly by as quickly as April and May did! I can’t believe we are already in June, wasn’t it just New Years? I am already enjoying the warm weather summer has brought.

I thought I’d join in on the Festive Friday challenge again! They always have some fun challenges to do. This week is Father’s Day and/or Die Cut. I went more die cut but I think the sentiment does lend itself towards Father’s Day some too. My dad has done a lot for me and I think thank you is always a great way to let him know I appreciate all he does for me.

Today’s card was created using some new products from the annual catalog. I’m using a new color called Sea Foam Green for the card base. Next I used a new designer series paper from the Tranquil Textures pack. This pack has amazing texture!

I used this paper piece. At first I wanted to use the Sea Foam Green and Tranquil Tide side but ended up using the Crumb Cake side.

I cut the designer series paper to 4″ by 5 1/4″ then used the barn door framelit which is just a rectangle die. IMG_8690

Next I worked on the tree. This tree is from Rooted in Nature bundle. I used VersaMark ink to stamp the tree onto some Vellum. Then I added white embossing powder and heat set with my heat tool. I then die cut it out using the coordinating tree die.

I wanted to see if I could add color to the tree so I used an aqua painter and some ink from the top of the lids from Tranquil Tide, Mint Macaron and Sahara Sand. I kind of dabbed it on and heat set a little in between. The image below shows the front side of the tree where I tried the color. I like it but when I started building the card I felt like it looked better flipped over. What I like about it being flipped over is it still shows a hint of color.

I attached the tree with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. They didn’t want to stay to the embossed area at first but ended up working great.

The sentiment came from the same stamp set Rooted in Nature. I stamped it in Mint Macaron since I haven’t order the new Sea Foam Green or any other new color just yet. I stamped it on the Sea Foam Green card stock though. I then trimmed it to be a thin strip. I then cut a piece of Basic Black card stock to be just slightly bigger. I attached the sentiment piece with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then adhered the whole sentiment to the card with liquid multipurpose glue aka Tombow. Then for some bling I added some rhinestones to each side. I am shocked that with the rhinestones it still looks like a masculine card.

  1. Lovely creation, Britney! I really like the look of the tree embossed in white on vellum. I think it looks nice on the white side, and with the sponged color! Just think of how that might look with fall shades! Thanks for joining us at Festive Friday Challenge!
