Inspire. Create. Stamping Challenge #011 is a card sketch. I like that this sketch is simple yet you can also add more elements to it to make it fancier.
My card has a mixture of different elements and textures. I wanted my card to be a little fancier because I had someone in mind when I was making it. I hope to send it out for Mail Mondays!
I started with a Fresh Fig card base. I then used the white embossing paste and mixed Sweet Sugarplum reinker into it on our silicon mat with a palette knife. I used the diamond mask for the pattern and smeared the embossing paste in an irregular diagonal area so it had some movement.
I decided to use the black and white strips from Tutti-Frutti designer series paper pack as the strip in the middle. I just want to hoard all the black and white strip pieces! It’s a very versatile pattern that can be used to be classy, simple, feminine or masculine.
My circle element was fun to create. I used two dies from the Eastern Beauty bundle. Then used a circle die from the Stitched Shapes. Then I punched out a 2″ circle to add behind the die cut circle element.
The next element was the thread I used. I used the Fresh Fig finely woven ribbon and cut the long side so I could pull out some of the single threads. I then wrapped it around and attached to my circle element.
I then added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the circle element and attached to the right side of the black and white strip paper. I still wanted a sentiment but not one that would over power the other elements of the card. So I stuck with the “hello” from the Eastern Beauty bundle. I stamped it in Fresh Fig and just flagged the end and attached it with a dimensional. Then I added my bling in rhinestones!
This card was fun to make and has a lot of different textures to it. I like using the embossing paste and coloring it to coordinates with the card. I hope you join us in this challenge! You don’t have to add a lot of elements to make a beautiful card. I think another pretty version of this card could be a Basic Black card base, no embossing paste and just the designer series paper in black and white with the circle element. I can’t wait to see what the other design team members have created and what you come up with!
