Annual Catalog 2017-2018, Challenges, Designer Series Paper, Occasions 2018

Is it Spring yet?

I am so over the cold and gloomy days! I am ready for more sunshine and warmer weather. My inner Florida girl wants to be wearing flip-flops not socks all the time! haha

I love these Tic Tac Toe Challenges! They are so much fun to pick from the many rows, columns or diagonals to inspire a card. I chose the left column “Sentiment, Free and Ribbon.” Click the image below to check out the Tic Tac Toe Challenge blog.

I used this mixed berry paper from the Tutti- Frutti designer series paper (DSP) stack. I love the colors and the spring/summer time feel it gives. Since it’s been gloomy and cold out taking my card pictures outside is a lot harder to do.

I started with a Real Red card base (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″). Then I layered a piece o Night of Navy (4″ x 5 1/4″). Then the Tutti-Futti DSP (3″ by 5 1/2″) piece. I tied the Night Of Navy 1/2″ Gingham Ribbon around the whole card and did a simple double knot. Then I used the Thank you stamp from the A Good Day stamp set. I stamped it in Night of Navy and punched it out with the 1″ circle punch. Attached it with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

I love using designer series paper on my cards. It can be a small piece to a whole layer. A full stack of designer series paper has many patterns to chose from since most of them are double sided. The great part about Stampin’ Up! is that all their colors coordinate from their inks to their papers and embellishments.

Their suites are a great area to start. They have a stamp set that coordinates with a stack of designer series paper. Then they have a pack of card stock that has anywhere from 2-4 colors that coordinate with the DSP. The suite usually has some kind of embellishment as well. If you use a suite you will have cards that are easy to create since you don’t have to worry about if the colors work okay with each other.
