2020-2021 Annual Catalog, Card Sketch, Challenges, Designer Series Paper, Inspire.Create.Challenges, Product Suites

ICC #071

It’s time for another challenge from Inspire.Create. Challenge! It was a fun challenge since I am someone who uses a lot of laters in my cards normally. This took me out of my comfort zone! This time around it is a card sketch.

I just got my box in from my first order from the Annual Catalog since it went live. I bought the Whale of a Time suite n whole! I love how playful it is and it is a little out of my comfort zone of products. I looked at the coordinating colors in the Designer Series Paper pack and found Calypso Coral was one of them (but of course!).

So I started out with a Calypso Coral card base and then looked at the paper to see which one I wanted to be in such a big square. I did make my square bigger than the one on the card sketch. Thats what I like about card sketches, you can add or take away and change things up! The DSP is cut to 4″ by 4″. I adhered it down with liquid glue.

Next the card sketch had a little strip and at first I thought the coordinating ribbon from the suite but decided it wasn’t the feel I wanted. I took a scrap piece of Bumblee Bee and ran it through with the embossing folder Seabed 3D. It is such a pretty almost elegant pattern. I made it where the strip had a starfish on it! I adhered this down with liquid glue as well.

For the sentiment I used this cute saying and stamped it in Shaded Spruce onto Whisper White. I then just trimmed close to the sentiment. Added it to some more scrap Bumble Bee card stock and trimmed it close. I layered these two using liquid glue. I then used Stampin’ Dimensionals to add to the card. But first I thought adding the sheer Pool Party ribbon that is apart of the suite would be cute underneath the sentiment layer.

I punched out the whale from the paper with the whale punch. Then added it with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. Last touch was some coordinating sequins. I just used some glue dots to add them to the card. Not a fan of messing with liquid glue for that.

Check out what the rest of the Design Team created using this card sketch by clicking one of the Inspire.Create.Challenge images. We would love if you join in on the challenge and share your creation!
