Sweet Stampede Blog Hop #007: Anything Fall!

Welcome to another Sweet Stampede Blog Hop! We are on our seventh hop and have gained some more participants! Our theme is Anything Fall! Seems like there are many of us that love Fall! The season brings on change!

Anything Fall

We enjoy decorating our homes, sipping on some seasonal drinks and enjoy the outdoors with the slightly cooler weather!

Fall does not officially start until September 22nd but we all get ready for it as soon as we see kids head back to school!

Today’s card I actually created for our team swap last month. We were creating with new products from the holiday catalog. I fell in love with this whole suite so it was an easy choice. I love this stamp set so much that I have already used almost all the stamps! Only ones I haven’t used yet are the small Thanks and Love. I made it this week’s product of the week to showcase a few more cards I’ve created with it!

country home

I started with a Crumb Cake card base measured at 4 1/4″ by 11″, scored at 5 1/2″. I then cut off a piece at 2 3/4″ from one side so I could use it basically as a card front.

Should I go from the inside of the card out? Sure, I added a layer of Whisper White cut 4″ by 5 1/4″ to the inside. This helped create some contrast between the inside and the top layer on the front.

I cut this fun cotton pattern from the Country Lane Designer Series Paper pack to 4″ by 2 1/2″. I adhered it with some liquid glue.

Next step was to work on the focal point of this card. I took the Crumb Cake layer that I cut from the card base and ran it through the Big Shot using the Subtle embossing folder. This folder is amazing! At first I didn’t want it but it really does give you the subtle texture that you didn’t realize you were missing before! I used my Everyday Label punch trick from last week to cut the corners!

Punches

I added it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The best way to do this and line it up is flip the piece over where you want it to sit then add the dimensionals the the areas you see are within the lap area. You do not want to put work into your card and find out it doesn’t open.

final 124

I then stamped this pitcher onto a piece of Whisper White and die cut it with the circle from the Stitched Shapes. I used the Stampin’ Blends in the dark and light Mint Macaron.

Always stamp in Memento black when using Blends, so you don’t have bleeding of colors. I stamped the Fall arrangement on a scrap of Whisper White then colored it in with Blends, Watercolored pencils for the leaves (using the Color Lifter to blend) and Wink of Stella for the cotton. Then I fussy cut them out.

I added some layers of linen thread behind the stitched circle before adhering to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then I added the Fall arrangement with some liquid glue and a Stampin’ Dimensional behind the top area.

final 121

Last I wanted the sentiment on the card still but didn’t want to cover up the other elements. So I stamped it on vellum with Blackberry Bliss then added clear embossing powder before using the heat tool. With vellum I heat from the back side first then move to the front. This helps with a lot of warping.

I added the sentiment to the card with two glue dots on the ends. Then I hid them using rhinestones. I colored the rhinestones with Pumpkin Pie blends before adding to my card.

Thanks for stopping by! I really hope you enjoyed today’s card! Don’t forget to hop through to the other ladies blogs! We all had a great time creating for this theme! Next you will be heading to Lisa Cunningham’s blog!
