Tranquil Leaves

This week has been super busy for me. I’ve been helping my dad with a renovation job he’s working on. I’ve turned in my ink this week for paint! I can’t lie I’m itching to get back into my Stampin’ Studio! I had a new box of goodies come in Monday that I haven’t been able to play with yet!

Today’s card turned out better than I imagined. I started with a Very Vanilla card base. Then added a layer of designer series paper from the Nature’s Poem suite. I hope your not sick of seeing this paper, because I love it! Before I adhered the designer series paper down I adhered a strip of vellum to the back of if with tear tape. This allows you to not have adhesive show through the front of the vellum.

I then had a strip of retired designer series paper from the Petal Garden pack sitting on my desk and it fit perfectly! I adhered it with liquid glue. Next I used the stitched shapes framelit dies for my sentiment. I used the smaller oval die. The sentiment is from the retired Rose Wonder stamp set. I hope to remake a card like this and change out the sentiment for a birthday. Then it would be perfect as a masculine card.

Before I added the sentiment to the card I added some copper metallic thread. Then I attached it all with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then I added two of the black faceted dots. I realized the vellum need a little extra hold on the front of the card so I slide some glue dots under the sentiment area.

Did you know that you can make a minimum of 72 cards per pack of designer series paper pack that has 12 sheets? Cut them to 4″ by 5 1/4″ to create the card front layer like I have on this card.
