Inspire.Create.Challenge #033

Welcome back to our bi-monthly paper crafting challenge! This week we are were challenged with the theme of Party! I thought this was a fun challenge since it was open to any type of party. I decided to go for a New Year’s Eve Party. I am almost burnt out on Christmas so this is perfect since we sometimes forget we can create some cute projects for New Years!

I created two projects for my challenge. I created a cute candy treat box and a card. You could use the card either as an invitation to your party or you could write New Year’s blessings inside that your recipient can receive at your party. I love the idea of writing your recipient a little personal blessing for the new year.

I received a cute little box like this from a swap at OnStage and was so excited to recreate one. I’ve made them before but not in this cute little size. Thank you to Yvonne Salinger for the cutest swap!

The card is a quick one… as long as you have a Big Shot! I started with a Blushing Bride card base. Next I decided to use the same Galvanized Metal Paper I was using for the box on the card. I cut it to 3 1/4″ by 4 1/2″. I ran it though the Big Shot using the Tufted Dynamic Texture Impressions Embossing Folder (what a mouth full!). I adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I then stamped the sentiment from the Hostess stamp set called Warm Hearted in Pool Party onto some Whisper White. Add some of the cute starburst stamps too! I then die cut it out with the large oval from the Stitched Shapes framelit dies. I adhered this with Stampin’ Dimensionals as well. Last I added a Silver Metallic Edged Ribbon as a bow with a glue dot.

So let’s get on to this cutie! I used the Galvanized Metal Paper. I used Yvonne’s instructions that she included with her swap. I’ll have them listed below!

Yvonne Salinger’s instructions:

4″ by 4 1/2″

Score on the 4″ side at 1/2″, 1″, 1 1/2″, 2″, 2 1/2″, 3″, 3 1/2″

Then on the 4 1/2″ side score at 1″, 2″, 3″, 4″

Then you will use the envelope punch board:

On the 4″ side, fold over the 1/2″ fold. Line the paper against the 1″ mark on the envelope punch board and punch. Repeat on each of the folds. Flip and repeat on the other side.

Once I closed the box up with the Silver Metallic Ribbon I worked on the sentiment layer. I stamped the enjoy from the Take Out Treats stamp set. I stamped it in Blushing Bride then punched it out with the 1 1/8″ scallop circle punch. I added it with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

I then colored some pearls with the Dark Pool Party Stampin’ Blends to create custom pearls! I loved them I decided to add one of each size!

Here is what the end of the box looks like. There’s a bite size Snickers chocolate in there! Yum!
