Inspire.Create.Challenge #028

Welcome back to another Inspire.Create.Challenge post! This challenge was a fun one to do! Our challenge is using these 5 colors in a project! I knew I was using the First Frost bundle this week as my Product of the Week so I envision the colors used in the flowers.

You can click the image below to go see what the other design team have created as well as enter your creation using the challenge! But don’t head there use yet, keep scrolling to see my card!

I started out with a Sahara Sand card base. I didn’t know if I would be able to use this color anywhere else on my card but it created the perfect backdrop! Then I layered on a 4 1/8″ by 5 1/8″ piece of Calypso Coral. I just wanted a small sliver to show to help with the pop of Calypso Coral in the flowers later. I adhered this layer with liquid glue.

Next I have a piece 4″ by 5 1/4″ Whisper White card stock that I ran through the Big Shot using the awesome Subtle Dynamic Textures Impressions Embossing Folder. It creates a linen like effect that can be subtle in some ways and a pop that pulls the card to the next level. I added this one with liquid glue as well.

I then needed some Pear Pizzazz so I went to the back of my Frosted Floral Designer Series Paper to see if that color was for sure in the pack. Since it was I looked at which pattern would work with my card but not over power it with what was already there. This leaves one was perfect! It has Pear Pizzazz and I still needed a leaf element in my card. I cut a strip at 2″ and flagged the end where I thought it would not be too much on my card. I layered this on with liquid glue.

Next I stamped the flowers. The First Frost bundle has a very watercolored look to it. I used Crushed Curry on the larger flower and Calypso Coral on three small flowers. Once I stamped them I ran them through the Big Shot with the coordinating dies.

I stamped the sentiment in Lovely Lipstick then die cut it out with one of the circle framelits from the Stitched Shapes set. I added this to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Then I added the flowers with both liquid glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals. I wanted them to hang off of the sentiment so the dimensionals helped keep them the same height. I added some Wink of Stella to the flowers for a little shimmer.

This picture above shows all the textures of the paper. The Designer Series Paper is a Specialty paper in which all the paper has this beautiful shimmer to it.

In the end I added some of this awesome Braided Linen Trim around the inside of the card and tying it into a bow. It just bring in this natural feel to the card. I then added one of the Frosted Epoxy Droplets. They are so pretty!
