Mystery Background Birthday Card

While browsing Facebook I came across an amazingly fun color combo that Allison Okamitsu came up with! I told her I would give it a go. She told me it would make creative genius happen! I don’t know all about that but I did have fun while creating this card! This new Lemon Lime Twist is such a fun party color! I’m out of some of the cardstocks so I hope to give it another go once I order more!

These colors are just gorgeous together and alone! I tried using Watercolor Wings with doing this technique but it didn’t work like I wanted it to. What technique am I talking about? I watercolored with the three party colors then clear heat embossed the stamped  images on top of it. Then you take a black ink over top of it all. 😳 Yep rub your black ink pad on top of all of that work! Then use a paper towel to buff ink in a little as well as wiping it off the embossed area. It’s a little scary but the end result is so much fun!

I watercolored my background so the colors are not as vibrant but I still loved how it turned out! I didn’t have any Melon Mambo cardstocks 😕 So I just inked up a piece of white and trimmered it up. The Lemon Lime Twist designer series paper is from the new Eastern Palace suite.

I love adding bling and dimension to my card! It’s not complete with out it right?  I also decided to add some white gel pen stitching on the outer edge of the black. Don’t be afraid to give your ideas a try. Sometimes they work and other times they don’t but you will always learn something new from trying!

If you give this color combo a try I would love to see it and I know Allison would too! Feel free to share your creations in the comments or share on Instagram with the hashtags #hopecardchallenge and #nicepeoplestamp

Sweet Sugarplum + Very Vanilla = LOVE!

You may be seeing the new Eastern Palace Suite all over Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram with dark colors but I decided to take a different direction. I used just the Eastern Medallions Thinlits Dies and the Eastern Beauty stamp set to create a beautiful card that could be used for many occasions.

I used Very Vanilla Cardstock as a card front and die cut 3 of the large medallions into it. I then backed it with Sweet Sugarplum (one of my newest favorites!).

I stamped the circle and starburst image in the middle of the die cut areas. I added a pearl to the middle of the stamped image to add some bling! I added a banner with thank you, which I stamped differently than how the stamp is originally. Then I added Stampin’ Dimsensionals to the back and placed on a Thick Very Vanilla card base.

What color would you use in a card like this?

Simple Masculine Card

Do you have trouble with making masculine cards? I am excited to share a simple card I created last night with the new Eastern Palace Suite!

I used a card sketch I found on Pinterest for inspiration.

Stampin’ Up! decided to throw us an awesome special in April! Demonstrators got a chance to order the new Eastern Palace Suite from the New Annual Catalog 2017-2018!! Here’s the best part, customers get a chance to order it in May!

It has 3 of the new In-Colors in the Designer Series Paper! Tranquil Tide, Fresh Fig and Lemon Lime Twist!

The Lemon Lime Twist just screams teenager to me, especially for a boy. That doesn’t mean it can be used more feminine though. Just add some Wink of Stella or Rhinestones to girly it up! Hehe

I used our new Thick Very Vanilla Cardstock for the card base and our regular Very Vanilla for the card front. I used the new Eastern Palace Designer Series paper and cut into small banners. Added a little Hello with our new stamp set Eastern Beauty stamp set. I added some Linen Thread to tie the card together with some Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card front.

Check back for some fun more samples using the new Eastern Palace Suite and the new In-Colors 2017-2019.

Diamonds in the Rough

I am excited to say that I have a small team of 4 awesome ladies!! Each one on their own journey of Stampin’ Up! with different levels of creativity! My team name is Diamonds in the Rough! I feel like we can all shine as we grow in who we are alone and together. I have created a FB group just for my team where we get to talk about the new annual catalog coming out in June! Another awesome thing is we are apart of Erica Cerwin’s team The Sweet Stampede that has another FB page of fun interactive challenges and team meetings!

Sadly the retired list has hit us all a little close to home this year. There’s some great classics leaving as well as items we have not had enough time with! My favorite die the Curvy Keepsake Box is leaving! 😦

Are you someone that likes knowing what’s going on before everyone else? Demonstrators get to see new products before our customers. This is the best part since we then get familiar with the products so we can demonstrate them. That’s how we fall in love with them before we share our projects with our customers.

This year we get to see a new suite from the catalog even before OnStage our big events to revile the catalogs. The new suite is called Eastern Palace, many demos already have ordered their new products from it and shared images online everywhere. My bundle comes in next week, I can’t wait to work on it and share with all of you! The fun part is they are making this suite available to customers in May! Thats a full month before the New Annual goes live! So be on the look out here for more informaton!

Don’t forget to check out the Retired List! Use the Hostess Code: CUW6UMRZ until April 21st (if its a qualifying party I will be giving everyone that orders a special gift!)

Until next time, What Stampin’ Up! Color is your favorite and why? Let me know in the comments below!

Display Stamper at OnStage Atlanta

I got the awesome news that I was chosen as a Display Stamper for OnStage Atlanta that was being held in the first weekend of November.

I then received a Stampin’ Up! Box of goodies in September that no other demonstrator have seen besides other display Stampers. It was exciting to have brand new product before anyone else!

Then came the hard part, creating 15 items from the new product and not knowing where to begin. I received the Party Animal Suite minus a couple items plus the Hostess set Iconic Occasions.

The following pictures are of all the items I created for the displays for OnStage Atlanta in Nov 2016.

The Party Animal designer series paper was hard for me to use at first because of the primary colors that I normal don’t use. Plus the dies had me stumped at first.

By the end I was very happy with what I created but yet still nervous about having my work displayed for so many other demonstrators to see.

It was an honor to learn that I was on the display with not one but at least 3 Artisan Design Team Members!!

Autumn the Season of Change

Autumn is my favorite season since I was a Florida girl turned North Carolina girl. The leaves changing is so amazingly pretty that I look forward to it. Even though I don’t like bare trees and the cold 😞

The first crisp cool day happened and gave me inspiration to create a card and wine bottle gift tag.

Grab you Aqua Painter filled with water, watercolor paper, ink and For All Things stamp set. I lightly wet the paper and then stamped on top that area. This is what will create a gr at water color look but also keep most of the outline of the image. Then just free hand cut those leaves out.

To create your card base take a 8 1/2″ by 11″ card stock and cut in half at 5 1/2″. Then you will have 2 card bases from just one sheet. Score the base at 4 1/4″ on the landscape side. Now you card base is ready.

Cut a piece of Very Vanilla and Winter Wonderland Vellum for your card front at 4″ by 5 1/4″. A lot of adhesive shows through vellum so for the card I figured out where I wanted my leaves and used Tombow multipurpose glue to glue them to the vellum. From there I glued the vellum just behind the leaves and attached to the Very Vanilla card front.

Last thing to add is the sentiment and silver thread.. To do this I stamped the “hello fall!” on Very Vanilla using Blackberry Bliss ink. Sorry I’ll have to measure how big this piece and the Cherry Cobbler piece is. I cut it just so there is enough at the ends so I could make it into a banner. I made the Cherry Cobbler slightly bigger then the sentiment then made it into a banner as well. I glued the sentiment to the Cheery Cobbler banner. I then took the silver thread and made three circles around my fingers and adhere it to the back of the Cherry Cobbler piece with tear tape (which I forgot to include in my list below 😱). Then added 2 Stampin’ Dimensionals (which are a must on like every project!) then centered onto the card.

Ready to give a wine bottle gift tag a try? It’s a great way to add a special touch to a not very personal gift of wine. There’s only a few steps different in the tag competed to the card. The measurement of the tag base is 8 1/4″ by 2 1/4″. Score at 2 1/4″ and use the bracket punch in the middle of the small square on top.

The tag front with Very Vanilla and the Winter Wonderland Vellum measures 6″ by 2″.

The sentiment “Grateful for You” is stamped in Blackberry Bliss on a piece of Very Vanilla and punched out with the Decorative Label punch. The punched out piece is then trimmed to look like the picture above. Add some silver thread to the Cherry Cobbler banner and Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the sentiment.

Thanks for checking out my post today! My next post I will be using the For All Things stamp set to add a leaf to a 3D Pumpkin using the Curvy Keepsake Box Die.
