Inspire.Create.Challenge #66 Theme Challenge

A new month and a new card challenge? A great way to start the month out in this crazy time! Let’s not focus on that but the amazing gift we have of creating beautiful cards! I want to challenge you not only to make cards but send them out! We all need some extra love right now!

Our newest challenge is a theme challenge with Easter being the theme! Easter is a fun theme to work on right now. Bring in some Springy colors, some cute animals and a sweet message to friends and family!

My card was a simple one that you could easily use as a card sketch for inspiration! I started with a Mint Macaron card base. I used the Best Dressed 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper pack. I love this pack because one side is beautiful flowers and the other side is fun sketch art with make up, shoes and purses! Such a fun pack of paper to use for many types of cards!

I took this diagonal print and cut it to 1 1/2″ by 5 1/2″. I used the White linen ribbon from the Magnolia combo pack. I used my cheating method for the ribbon…

Cut a piece of the ribbon about 3″ then a piece about 7″. Take the 7″ piece and tie a loose knot it in. Now slide the 3″ piece into it and tighten it. Now use tear tape to wrap the ends o the 7″ around your piece of Designer Series Paper. This saves on the amount o ribbon you are actually using on a project.

Then just adhere down your Designer Series Paper to the card base. I used Snail here but I love using Tombow glue to make sure it’s no going anywhere!

Next I cut this pretty Highland Heather flower pattern piece for another layer. It is cut at 3″ x 4″. One of my favorite sizes to layer onto a card! Just adhere it down and think about your sentiment.

I stamped this sentiment from Timeless Tulips stamp set in Highland Heather onto some Whisper White. I trimmed it close to the sentiment, no actual measurement there. haha I then used the Pretty label punch to add a little detail to the one side of the sentiment layer. I added the sentiment layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Last but never least is a little bling! I used the Purple Posey Faceted Dot from the 2019-2021 In-Color Faceted Dots pack! I love that it goes so well with Highland Heather!

I hope you enjoyed my card today and it inspires you on this challenge and many other creations! Right now these colors are just cheery, soothing and great or the soul!
