2019-2020 Annual Catalog, Challenges, Designer Series Paper, Inspire.Create.Challenges

Inspire.Create.Challenge #051

Guess what day it is?! Guess what day it is! It’s the new Holiday catalog launch day! I am excited about this because the Holiday catalog is always my favorite to work out of. Now today’s post sadly does not feature any of the newbie products since I just got my preorder in hand yesterday (today as I’m writing the post)! I hope to do a video showing you all the pretty papers and share my paper share info!

I will be posting new products for sure next week but be on the look out if I can get some up before than! Crossing my fingers!

Today’s post is our #051 challenge from Inspire.Create.Challenge blog! It’s a theme challenge and not an easy one for anyone to create. Sympathy, I think most crafters have a hard time creating these types of cards.

I do hope you try your best to create them since receiving a handmade card during those tough moments feels like you just received a hug. Remember you can click either of the Inspire.Create.Challenge images to hop over to the blog and get some more inspiration from the rest of the Design Team.

So my card was created with a family in mind since my Great Uncle was in Hospice at the time due to complications with a open heart surgery. I didn’t know my uncle much but it is still a loss of the family.

I wanted to create a little bit more of a gender neutral card. I started with Merry Merlot as a card base. I ran it through the Subtle embossing folder (favorite embossing folder!).

I then die cut a piece of Woven Thread Designer Series Paper and a piece of Whisper White card stock using the rectangle stitched dies.

I stamped this era image using Mossy Meadow onto the Whisper White. The fern image is from the stamp set Daisy Lane. I think it is a beautiful image!

I adhered those two layers down using liquid glue then worked on a sentiment. Now this is where it got a little hard. What of you say….

Well I chose to use the sentiment “I know this must be hard for you”. I know it’s not the sweetest way to say sorry and show sympathy but it also packs a punch. It is from the Genuine Gems stamp set. I stamped it in Merry Merlot on a strip of Whisper White. It is adhered to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
