Inspire.Create.Challenge #038

Welcome back to another paper crafting challenge from the Inspire.Create.Challenge blog! We have a card sketch for this challenge. I strayed a little away from the card sketch in the sense of I made it into a fancy fold and moved the circle up some with an added layer. I love that about card sketches though, you can get inspiration from them then run with your idea!

Join us in the challenge and link up your project! I would love to see what the sketch sparks for you! You can click either of my Inspire.Create.Challenge images to go back to the blog to check out the other design team and to link up your project!

I started with a Crumb Cake card base but I made it into a fancy fold. I score an extra line on the front at 2 1/8″. Then I fold it back on itself.

I decided I wanted just a small edge around my layers. So my Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper is cut to 2″ by 5 3/8″. The inside white layer is cut to 4 1/8″ by 5 3/8″. I use liquid glue to adhere my layers down.

The rectangle layers in the middle is a piece of Whisper White at 3 1/8″ by 4 1/8″. The Crumb Cake layer is cut to 3″ by 4″. I stamped using Crumb Cake and the Painted Seasons stamp set to create this subtle background. I used the leaves and little star designs and stamped a few times. I layered the two together adhering with liquid glue. I then use liquid glue to adhere about half of that to the front layer of the card. Be careful not to glue it to the inside the card. hehe

Then for the sentiment circle I stamped the sentiment from the Humming Away stamp set using Cajun Craze onto Whisper White. I die cut it out with the circle Stitched Shapes framelit dies.

I also had some small scraps of the DSP and some Crumb Cake so I flagged them, layered them together and adhered them to the back of the circle. Then I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the circle sentiment to the front of the card.
