Healing Roses

Hey Stampers! I hope everyone had a good weekend! It never lasts long enough in my opinion. That is ok though, just schedule some crafty time this week to get a little break from the everyday to do lists! I have to start working on Christmas cards this week, ugh! It does not even feel like the middle of October how am I suppose to get some Christmas mojo going?

Well this week I’ll be sharing some cards using my Product of the Week: the Buffalo Check background stamp! This pattern is so trendy in interior design and fashion right now! You could walk into any store and see this pattern!

Today’s card is a beautiful card you could send as a get well card. The sentiment “Sending You Healing Vibes” is from the stamp set Healing Hugs. This set is beautiful, the rose and leaves are the new DisINKtive stamps that look realistic!

To create this card you will need:

On almost all of my cards I use some of the essential supplies of my Stampin’ Trimmer, Stampin’ Dimensionals and liquid multipurpose glue aka Tombow! To step up any card add a ribbon/twine and a rhinestone/pearl.

For this card I started with a Pool Party card base cut at 5 1/2″ by 8 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″. The next layer I added was a piece of Whisper White card stock cut to 4″ by 5 1/4″.

The next layer is a piece of Pool Party card stock cut to 3 3/4″ by 5″. I stamped it using the Buffalo Check clear stamp with Pool Party ink. I used the Stamparatus, our stamp positioner tool. It works great for background stamps!

I adhered the two layers to the card base with the liquid glue. This is my favorite adhesive for layers on my cards.

My favorite part of this card are these beautiful roses! The DisINKtive stamp is so realistic! I stamped the two roses and two leaf sets onto some Whisper White card stock. The roses are in Blushing Bride and the leaves are in Soft Sea Foam.

Then I fussy cut them out. This takes a little time but it really lets the roses pop off the card. I use our Paper Snip Scissors! They are the perfect size, very sharp and smooth to work with. When fussy cutting leave a little bit of white around the image. This allows your eyes to focus on the image itself instead of the cut edge. Which means if its not perfectly cut it will not be as noticeable.

I adhered one rose and leaves down directly to the card front with liquid glue. The next one I added with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a little liquid glue to the leaves so they stayed against the rose.

I added two of the beautiful Share What You Love Artisan Pearls to the bottom right corner. The pearls are apart of a suite that honors Stampin’ Up!® 30th Anniversary this year!

Last it was time to work on the sentiment part of the card. I stamped the sentiment in Pool Party onto Whisper White. I then use cut it in a small rectangle close to the size of the sentiment. I kinda want to call this freehand cutting but I still use the trimmer, I just didn’t measure the piece.

I added the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I then made a small bow with the Silver & Petal Pink Baker’s Twine. I then added it the the sentiment with a glue dot.

I love these three colors together! I hope you give this color combo a try. It makes such a delicate card. Add any neutral color to it to make it have different styles.
