Annual 2018-2019, Designer Series Paper, Promotions

Topped with a Bow

Another week almost done and closer to the holidays. Are you ready for them or would you rather have a longer summer? I’m on the fence this year. I love Autumn but hate Winter! I love the holidays though! I just have been enjoying the summer with hiking, grilling out and having more time with my man! Well the mosquitos have been bad this year though! Ugh!

This week I did focus on Christmas cards. I know some people don’t want to think that far ahead, including me! I just hope these cards can give you some inspiration for your Christmas cards this year! I know a lot of people with families like making cards with their photo but you could always include it inside the card so your family and friends can hang it up somewhere year round instead of just Christmas!

Today’s card also uses our Product of the Week the Stitched Label Framelit Dies. I love these dies a lot, partly because anything stitched reminds me of my grandparents! My grandpa was an upholster and my grandma would sew on occasion too!

I started with a Thick Whisper White card base. Then layered a piece of Whisper White that I ran through the Big Shot with the ruffled embossing folder. This folder is perfect to add with any of our stitched framelits!

Next I worked on what I want to call the present look. I layered some plaid Designer Series Paper from the Under the Mistletoe pack on top of some Old Olive. I adhered them together with some liquid glue.

Then I ran them through the Big Shot with the cross stitch die from the Stitched Labels. I used it on all our sides letting them overlap like a quilt. I added this to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment Merry Christmas is from the Blended Seasons stamp set that is limited edition until Aug 31st or while supplies last. I stamped it in Old Olive onto some Whisper White. I then used the cross stitch on the bottom for some extra texture. I added a rhinestone to the corner and added it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added an Old Olive Colored Doily behind the sentiment layer before adding it to the card.

Then I added a bow to the top of the “present” to finish off the look. I used the Real Red Cotton ribbon and adhered it with a glue dot.

I love how this ends up looking like a present box on a card. I am someone that loves layers in cards! If you don’t you could always eliminate a couple and create the present box look too!

Below is the list of supplies I used to create this card. The two items I do not have on this list but used is the Stampin’ Trimmer and Paper Snip Scissors. I use those on like every card! ha I LOVE our trimmer and scissors more than any others I have tried! They are worth the investment!
