This week on my blog and Facebook page I’m focusing on designer series paper that is apart of the Buy 3, Get 1 Free promotion. I love using Designer Series Paper on my projects! This is a great special to have some designer series paper on hand! I hope to do a One Sheet Wonder Class in August to share how to use your paper to the fullest!
Today’s project was inspired by Global Design Project’s latest paper crafting challenge #147. Their theme is Country/Farm Life. Sadly my farm life project ended up being on Tuesday for the Sweet Stampede blog hop but I think you’ll love this project just as much if not more! It’s country!
I created a super cute card using Painted Harvest. A stamp set that I’ve had for almost a year now and haven’t touched it since the holiday catalog. I have seen some YouTubers start with their Autumn decor (which I’m waiting until end of Aug, beginning of Sept) to do. I have been enjoying my summer weather and don’t want to get closer to winter!!
I actually made a mini card too! But we’ll get to that!
I started with the Fresh Fig piece of Designer Series Paper from Tranquil Textures. I cut it to 3″ by 4″. I then created a Very Vanilla mat for it. I distressed both the designer series paper and the Very Vanilla edges just using my paper snips. I then layered them together with liquid glue.
I added them to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love dimension on my cards!!
Next I stamped this sunflower from Painted Harvest. You can use the Stamparatus or just your regular blocks, either way works! They are photopolymer so it’s easier to see though them to line them up. Plus if it’s not perfect it’s hard to tell!
I stamped onto Very Vanilla with Crushed Curry for the two layers of the sunflower then I used Cajun Craze for the middle seed area. I then fussy cut them out.
For the leaves I stamped the double stamp with Old Olive. I then used the coordinating Leaf Punch to punch them out.
I added three set of leaves to the sunflower on the regular six card.
I made stamped extras knowing I wanted to make a smaller card too.
I glued the leaves and sunflower down and then slightly curled the edges. I also added some Wink of Stella to the sunflower starting with the petals then to the seeds.
Next the sentiment is also from Painted Harvest. I stamped it in Fresh Fig onto Very Vanilla and punched it out using the Everyday Label Punch.
I attached it to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals and off the center layers.
Then I added 3 of the Blackberry Bliss Faceted Buttons.
Last I really wanted to add some Linen Thread but didn’t know where at first. Then I decided to wrap the card twice on the top and then tie a knot. Then I added this cute mini tag from the Corrugated Elements with a Stampin’ Dimensional hiding the knot. I then did a double strand bow and used a glue dot to add it to the tag.
Then onto my mini card. I used one of the Whisper White Narrow Note Cards. They are super cute since they are mini! I used the same elements but changes the sentiment out the this sentiment also from Painted Harvest. I rounded two of the corners using the Detailed Trio Punch then added it on with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I also added a couple Faceted Dots.
I also stamped the envelope with two of the leaves.
