June 1st can’t get here fast enough! The new annual catalog will be going live! It is an amazing catalog that I feel like has something for everyone. I wanted to share another sneak peek of a stamp set that I love.
Today’s challenge is the new In-Colors! I only used two of them this time but I love all 5 of them! If you have ordered the new colors already come join in on the fun over at Inspire.Create.Challege blog. Click the image below to go to the blog post.
I created a masculine card using Call Me Clover and Blueberry Bushel! I think both colors are great basic blue and green. I was experimenting with the colors and came up with this background that reminded me of a landscape.
I used shimmer white card stock. I then took the Clear H Block and inked it up with the Call Me Clover and spritzed with rubbing alcohol. I spritzed it only twice, I didn’t want it to runny. Then I squished it onto the paper. I had the piercing mat underneath the paper for a little give. I pulled it straight up and got some amazing texture.
So I did the same with the Blueberry Bushel. I think I spritzed it the same but more got onto the block. I lined it up with the Call Me Clover and squished down and picked it straight up. It reminds me of clouds!
Since it reminded me of a landscape I added just the one tall tree from the new stamp set Rooted in Nature. The stamp set is like an updated Lovely as a Tree. It has dies that coordinate. I stamped it with Memento then went over it with VersaMark and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.
Then I decided I wanted it to look like framed art. I took a piece of Basic Black card stock and cut it 1/4″ larger than my image. I then used my Stampin’ Trimmer to cut the inside of the frame out. Our Stampin’ Trimmer has measurements on the arm which makes this easy! I went in 1/4″ then cut up to the 1/4″ from the other end. I did this all 4 sides. I then thought the frame would look better with rounded corners. So I used the new Detailed Trio punch which has a corner rounder to it. I love this new punch!
I wanted the frame to be shiny so I used the Fine Tip Glue pen over the whole thing and set to the side to dry.
I then worked on what card base I wanted. I didn’t know if I wanted just Whisper White or one of the In-Colors. I ended up liking the Blueberry Bushel as my card base. I then layered on a piece of Whisper White. Next I layered on a piece of the Wood Textures designer series paper. I’m so glad Stampin’ Up! decided to keep it around for this annual catalog!
I finished up the putting the landscape framed art together once the frame was dry. I glue the landscape to the frame and used a piece of Whisper White behind that just to make sure it stayed together. I then added a bunch of Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back and layered it onto my card.
Last was the sentiment. I didn’t want anything to big to over power the image. So I used this sentiment that’s also in the Rooted in Nature. I stamped it in Basic Black on Whisper White and I just cut it apart. I layered it on the card with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional on the left side and a glue dot on the right since the frame was up a little higher.
I am so happy with how it turned out. There were times I didn’t know if it would end up as I was picturing. I think it is a great masculine card but of course could be used for anyone that needs a pick me up!
