Inspire.Create.Challenge #015

It’s another theme challenge over at Inspire.Create.Challenges blog! The theme this time is Masculine. That’s defiantly a challenge! For some reason masculine is always a challenge when paper crafting. I think its because so many papers are pretty and girly. Plus it’s easier to design something with ourselves in mind hehe

Well I think mine is masculine but could probably accepted my some country woman! I am a Florida girl but now have lived in North Carolina for almost 12 years. So once in a while you’ll hear me say Y’all! Y’all is You All but in short haha It took me some time to get used to hearing it as much as I did starting out in Sophomore year in NC.

So today’s project is a cute little crate for some mini moonshine. I was gifted the moonshine and I have to say I did not enjoy them! haha

Any who…

I cut out a Wood Crate using the die out of Dapper Denim. I love that the Wood Crate die even scores the paper for you! So easy to assemble. You have to cut out 2 of them to complete a crate. For the handle I took a strip of Dapper Denim at 1 1/2″ by 8 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″ then 1 1/2″ from both ends. I did glue the handle together so that it would be sturdier then glued the bottom of the handle to the crate so it would stay in.

I then stamped the glass mug in Memento on Whisper White and colored it in with Pool Party Stampin’ Blends. The mug stamp is from the stamp set Mixed Drinks. One of my favorite sets and I’m crossing my fingers it doesn’t retire.

I then die cut that and a piece of Dapper Denim out with the Stitched Shapes circles. I layered them together with Stampin’ Dimensionals as well as added it to the crate with them.

The sentiment I made with the Labeler Alphabet stamp set, another favorite! I stamp it onto Whisper White then freehand cut out to look like a label. I added them on with the mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. I am so glad they added them to our product line!

Last touch was the shiny love I added to the glass and the sentiment. I used the fine tip glue and lightly added it on places I wanted it to be shiny. I think this is a must have in every paper crafters supplies! It makes an item feel finished and like a label.

I hope you enjoyed my masculine project today! Come join us in the challenge! Our challenges stay up for two weeks so you have time to think of what you would like to make! We do have a few guidelines but not anything major so just take a look at those if you have not before.
